the brits just STOOD BY in 1948-1949

 the "world" just "stood by" as egyptian tanks left the egypt borders [since 1922] to invade the young rebirth called israel.
imagine if.... the european powers would "not just stand by idly" but bombed egypt and its tanks and troops and warplanes and same for syria... that war would have been much shorter endded SOONER  far less loss of life on batttlefields due to lack of EQUIPMENT so france and british have blood on their hands for not dettering the invaders with a loss of equipment the invaders woulda surrendered sooner instead of a long 18 month war.
