the jap naval raid by ganges river

the jap navy was resting in a bay on the east side of rant' mr [the isle east from kapuas river in krr].
26 March 1942: a group containing 5 w.c. AKAGI, SORYU and HIRYU, SHOKAKU and ZUIKAKU+
4 ba' KONGO, HIEI, HARUNA HEI and KIRISHIMA, and more minor, left from Staring Bay via Timor Sea nw of murray rr [aust'] toward brit naval bases on ceylon.
this group reached sea south from ceylon and sank many ships.
in april brit ba' hunted for the group but filed to find them. on april 9 considering the speed jap 30 knots but brit fast warspite 25 knots brit scattered 2 ba' westward and one north to nw coast of ganges rr.
jap fleet returned eastward.
some went to coral sea shok' and zui' an 11 day trip but longer via truk. others went to midway where in june three of these w.c. sank.+kaga.
in november, by the boili isle chain, u.s  sank ba' hiei and kiri' who had been in this raid.
