card game on computers

my girl-friend "challenged" me to play the computer games "free space" and "spider solitaire", the ones in which you must move the cards into order... be careful with these games they are time consuming.
for a limited time each day, she watched my try and often fail over the last few weeks. an alarm countdown kept track of time.
after very low success rate, less than 50% in around ten attempts of each, i played a game "only doing the "hint" moves"  specifically in the "intermediate" level of solitaire. i was surprised that the hinted moves led to "no more possible moves' which surprised me because i thought the levels "beginner intermediate" were based on "card combinations" yet they are not.
it is like a real set of cards where some combinations are unsolvable. why surprise? because divided into levels so it seemed all in each group were solvable only differing by complexities yet even computer hints did not solve, and led twice in a row for each game to "no more possible moves"
similarly the game free space had limitations which even the computer could not succeed that is not realistic because the limitations make the game unsolvable.
so obviously i deleted my "low" success rate by resetting the "statistics" and removed the game from my list why play a game that is unsolvable?
in response i created a hybrid game similar to each but with rules that are solvable. see next post. in fact such games if unsolvable measure nothing not only differ from the thinking skills needed in schools and planning projects in life,  but also only if assumed the game is solvable... can a success rate be measured like school exam questions which are possible.
when i failed, then i felt weak until she comforted me she could not succeed either and her feeling weak had motivated her to challenge me and see it was hard for me too.
now i see even the computer hints lead to "no more possible moves" so it does not show weakness in any way. it is for people who could play cards all day but do not bother to set up the cards. that can be life saving to somebody who is bored or suicidal or unemployed so there are benefits as long as you know the levels does not mean the "complexity" to solve because many games are unsolvable even by computer hints.
however there is an alternative see next post.
briefly the challenge is a game with less than "8 piles" of those two games, balanced by the ease of "cards are visible" so you can plan which can motivate planning strategy,  in contrast to unknown covered solitaire.
also only two free spaces instead of four balanced by less limitations in moving a sequence of cards. so less limitations with a different factor for the challenge.
i played the new game and so far it is solvable. and a challenge. and motivates planning because the cards are visible like free space in contrast to the hidden cards in solitaire like luck even for beginner level. so keep in mind some combinations are unsolvable and beware of the amount of time in each game. conclusion truly random and so many combinations are impossible even for computer.
