On a stormy night, in 2015, six months after the evacuation of the park named Jurassic World, a mercenary team came to Isla Nublar. After the computer tech, named Jack, opened the under-water gates, by linking his computer to the system of the abandoned park, a submersible entered the lagoon of the island. Its two-man crew searched the sea floor for the skeletal remains of the Indominus Rex - the hybrid dinosaur, genetically sequenced to be a weapon, that had escaped and ruined the park, before a marine reptile pulled it into the lagoon. One of the crew shows he is nervous about going near a known dangerous predator. His partner tries to calm him by telling him to relax, because anything in the lagoon already died.
They find the skeleton. One swam and sawed a rib bone from that skeleton. He attached a buoy so it floated up to the surface. The Mosasaurus swam nearing them.
On land, on Main Street of the park, Jack (Land One) is monitoring the submersible, on his tablet. Jack tells "Air One" to recover the rib-bone. The helicopter, containing the rest of their team, searches for the buoy. Jack heard footsteps of a dinosaur (a dilophosaurus) in the jungle by him, but nothing appears. Air One finds the rib-bone and then tells Jack that they are coming to pick him up. Jack tells Marine One to leave the lagoon so he can close the gates, that blocks the lagoon reptiles from the wider ocean. Just when the submersible acknowledges they near the gates, the giant jaws of the Mosasaurus circle around them.
Jack's tablet shows "SIGNAL LOST". He tells Marine One to exit and asks if they can hear him. Air One also tries contacting them. The co-pilot of the chopper saw something walking through the jungle. Jack hears its heavy footsteps nearing him. Jack says he must close the gates now and leave. When he cannot hear confirmation he yells at Marine One to confirm position. The squad in Air One warn Jack to turn around and look. Jack yells back that he can't hear them in the rain storm. A massive animal is standing behind him: Rexy the Tyrannosaurus rex.
Jack screams, and Rexy roars back. Jack runs along Main Street. Air One lowered a ladder which swings and drags on the ground. Jack tries to grab it while Rexy pursues. Jack leaps off of the edge of the Lagoon and catches the ladder. As the end of the ladder ascends, Rexy bites the bottom end of the ladder. Rexy tries to pull everyone down. When she shakes the ladder, she swings the helicopter. The co-pilot yells, "cut the ladder" before Rexy can kill the entire squad. They argue about sacrificing Jack, who pleads for his life. Then the ladder breaks and the chopper and Jack fly up. Rexy roars.
The team cheers at their escape from danger, until the marine reptile named Mosasaurus, leaps out of the water and clamps its jaws on the entire ladder and consumes Jack. The chopper flew away while the survivors are left stunned. At least they have the Indominus bone, in a secure case to bring to the one who hired them. The Mosasaurus swims through the opened gates and out into the wider ocean. will it only eat fish?
